Seems like Mittens is losing his grip on this, I wonder if Newt is surging on Intrade atm.

When you are too confident and when all the medias say it's OK, usually, you have to become worried...

But Florida will be here to kill Newt.
Except if Santorum drops out after SC. Then, it can be pretty nasty until the end, Mitt winning a la Obama '08, but without any Mittmania and without any adoring medias behind him.

No, it's not back on.

Mitt could lose SC, but that doesn't mean the primary is "on."

If Newt wins SC, then things should last until at least Super Tuesday.

If Newt wins SC he could lose Florida, all of the February states, and still be competitive on Super Tuesday due to it being so South heavy.

Newt will surge in FL.  Won't be enough to win, but probably will be enough to make it quasi-close.

Gingrich could win South Carolina. He will not be the nominee. But he will be hurting Romney's chances in November if he actually goes for the win in South Carolina.

You underestimate the support for Newt in FL...he has a great organization here

Yes, definitely.

What should be a warning sign for Romney is that the attack ads of his opponents and the latest news surrounding Romney's past at Bain Capital and his current financial situation influence the race to such an extent.
If he's losing ground in SC after only a few days of negative campaigning against him, how could Romney survive a general election campaign against the Obama camp which has much more money and much more time to throw dirt at him?
