I feel like the damage has already been done, so it's damned if he does or damned if he doesn't now.

Should be hilarious. Bet his money's more sheltered than a suburban high schooler.

I wonder how many years he will release?  My guess is if he doesn't go back at least 12 years, his opponents including Obama's campaign will say that he shortchanged them and didn't measure up to the standard of his father.

He announced it over an interview with Fox News this morning, where apparently (I wasnt watching) Romney got testy with some question asked. Also, he apparently is only releasing two years worth.

That could spell trouble with his opponents.

Wealth is something to be admired and pursued, not vilified and redistributed. This is America, not Europe.

Romney did not inherit his father's wealth. Did Gingrich inherit his mother's health?

It is the health, not the wealth, of a candidate that matters. If you think otherwise, have you not seen Obama lately? The presidency is a stressful job. One look at a picture of Obama four years ago should tell you that.

Let's see each candidate's medical records next.

Mitt's still playing defense.  That ain't gonna be enough come November, tho the organizational advantages he has from having spent the last six years running for President might still get him the nomination.

I'd respect him more if he didn't use tax havens.

Wealth is something to be admired and pursued, not vilified and redistributed.

Nominally, moving companies to the Caymen Islands is a tax avoidance scheme. Noone takes seriously the notion that Bain's companies were anything other than American companies, doing business in America, operated from America by Americans, for the benefit of its American owners. Yet, they did not pay taxes as American. Romney is a tax avoider.

The political question is simply, "Do you prefer candidates that pay the American government the American tax rates for American companies doing business in America, or do you prefer a candidate whom avoids American corporate taxes?"

Romney defenders can talk until they are blue in the face about how it was in his economic self-interest to do so, but, that doesn't mean it was in his political self-interest to do it. It wasn't.

On a sidenote, I love how the BBC regularly refers to Mitt Romney as a "tycoon". Grin

Yeah, Obama is truly ravaged by it.  He looks so much older than your average 50 year old American.....

Yes, that is brilliant. Hope it catches on elsewhere.
