I was going to say that I like Paul De Man better than I like his cousin, but then I actually still sort of like Hendrik, even if he made some poor calls.

Have I mentioned on here yet that I had a class last semester from the guy who discovered Paul De Man's collaborationist writings (,while writing his Master's Thesis)? I believe he actually had a minor correspondence with Derrida on those.

My favourite ever thing about De Man is that there appearantly is one article that has him railing against the 'Jewish influence in European Literature' for pages. Then he moves on to praise a 'real European novelist' and the example he picks is .... Franz Kafka.
