The reason I proposed this is simple. This is the logical extension of all of the arguments people have made over the last couple years to keep nicking away more and more at our registration requirements. Including some arguments from our current President himself.

Snowguy in fact once argued that having people have to wait a few weeks to join Atlasia was turning Atlasia into an exclusive and elitist gentleman's club that kept members out. Time and time again people pop up, lower requirements, and then use it as a bullet-point in their campaigning, and I'm tired of seeing newbies used as political footballs by cynical politicians.

"I love newbies, so I lowered your registration requirements by a day or two! Vote for me!" It annoys me to no end. If registration requirements are really such an issue, then let's essentially get rid of them entirely. No one can grandstand on this issue anymore, and we'll really put this preposterous "lower requirements = get more meaningful activity" notion that has been repeatedly debunked, to its fullest test.

I would greatly appreciate it if this would at least generate some amount of discussion, even if it ultimately doesn't pass. I want to see those who constantly use newbies for their own political purposes chime in on this. Our President, among them.

You need another Senator to join you on your obstructionism, now.

With a proposal supposedly supported by the President? Are you accusing the President of being a troll?

I don't even understand what point you just had there. Snowguy has explicitly said in the past he supports the abolition of registration requirements, and lowering them whenever possible. This goes as far as possible in reducing registration requirements without abolishing them entirely.

If you're calling that position trolling, then Snowguy is apparently also a crazy troll. All I ask from this Amendment is that it receives proper debate, and input from people who support reducing registration requirements ad infinitum.

And as for your amendment, I'm invoking Article 4, Section 2, Clause 4 in the Senate rules to dismiss your amendment as frivolous and am removing it from consideration. If you wish to challenge that action, please find two other Senators that support your amendment and wish to override that action.

Plenty of people support ditching or slashing registration requirements, and I'm legitimately supportive of passing this to see if it has a positive impact. The only person trolling here is the one flinging out motions to table, that thankfully can no go nowhere without you getting a sidekick, or unrelated amendments, which you thankfully also can't use to screw with the process unless you find two other people.

I seriously wanted opinions on this issue and genuinely will vote in favor of this to see if it has a benefit to the game. That is all. That is what "debate" in the Senate is for.

We used 18 posts in 2004! Comon, it was clever. Tongue

I'll support that, but what about the age requirement? Tongue

I accept Bgwah's amendment as friendly. Senators have 24 hours to object.

That amendment has long since come into effect. Tongue

With no debate for a few days, I'll now bring this Amendment to a final vote, so we can move on with all our lives!

The following Constitutional Amendment is now at a final vote. Please vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain. 6 Ayes are currently required for passage. 7, if/when Polnut swears in.

9 votes in favor, and this Amendment has passed and will now go onto the regions for a vote.
