Is a late-entry on the Democrat side possible at this time?

I can see someone entering. Who would you like to be? It would be hard though.

Was Tim Kaine elected to the Senate in this scenario?

That works. Just so you know in the next poll that I'm working on now, Gillibrand is up big due to Emanuel's endorsement.

Gillibrand Campaign Statement on Gov. Brian Sandoval's Remarks in Phoenix:

"Earlier today, Republican candidate for President Brian Sandoval vilified the economic records of both President Obama and Senator Gillibrand. For a governor whose state numbers 46th in job creation, it's no surprise he stoops to attack others' records rather than defending his own. That Senator Dean Heller supports the failed economic policies of Governor Sandoval should also not come as any great surprise. Sen. Heller has consistently stood on the side of job exporters instead of defending the interests of the American worker. Senator Gillibrand has a proven record as a champion of the middle class and she stands by her record and is proud of it."
This post should be stricken from the record.

The 46th rating was a rating that does not account Governor Sandoval's time in office - my bio listed that Nevada's unemployment cut in half under my watch and that we had balanced the budget. This game would be a helluva lot easier if we all could do what Senator Gillibrand did and make up our own facts without approval.

I won't consider it when looking at polling. Don't make stuff up about the other candidate's records unless you're jumping on something that they said (whether IRL or on the game thread). All "new facts" that are relevant to the bigger picture need to be approved by me. If it happens please let me know, I don't always catch it.

But Republican politicians make up facts all the time...=P

In all seriousness, my bad...sorry for the misunderstanding

This was fun while it lasted, but I'm out. Though it's obviously unrealistic for an open Democratic primary to go unopposed, it's just a game. Tongue

Best of luck to mondale84 and Senator Gillibrand.

Am I still allowed to sign up? I'd like to be Bernie Sanders (running as a Democrat for reasons of interestingness).

You can, but he'll be 74 --and he already looks older than that. Won't be easy.

Hey, since we don't have polling yet (which is perfectly okay with me, since I've been sick) is it okay if we push this week back until Sunday?

You're doing great! Smiley My only request would be more endorsements. I could use some more surrogates.

I'll do South Carolina next.

Also, send me 6 endorsement requests and I will grant 3 of them as long as there isn't too much overlap b/w candidates (and they must be realistic). Endorsement requests may not be from SC, IA, NH or FL.

Sandoval has the NV delegation. Christie; the NJ delegation.

West/Rubio/Bush - Florida endorsements will come soon. Maybe I'll do those tonight as well.

BTW, I'm going to be out for about a week, so I'll miss a few weeks. I might join back in afterwards, but if things have gone too far without me, then I'll drop out.

Honestly --I'm trying to do this as honestly and fairly as possible --but I don't think you're going to dent Gillibrand's numbers.

Just to clarify, the past week of campaigning was Friday and Saturday, so the new week is today and tomorrow. Right?

Yeah, I'm home from school for the weekend and didn't have a chance to post anything today --but I will within the next hour.

FYI - Whoever wins the Dem/GOP nomination I will ask to count how many stops you made in each state up to the point that you won the nomination (or if everyone else drops out). I have been keeping track of this as best as possible and this will help me determine a few variables for the general election.

Example:

Nick's Campaign Schedule

3/11 - Iowa
3/12 - Iowa/NH
3/14 - NH/California

Iowa - 1.5
NH - 1
California - .5

Don't go smaller than halves, I'm not that picky. (Don't send me the # now, I'll want it when you win the nomination).

Gillibrand/Trump/Hagel - Try to make at least one post per week (the real 7 day week not the game week) while the GOP contest is still being contested. I'm not making any "schedule" requirements for this post, just a general post of whatever campaign related stuff you want to post.

Are states winner-take-all, or proportional in this game?
