http://gop12.thehill.com/2012/01/gingrich-isnt-worried-about-new.htmlFOX HOST MARTHA MACCALLUM: What do you think the possibility is of a third candidate -- a last-minute kind of thing -- entering this race?
GINGRICH: Well, they could. That happens. When Reagan ran -- as various candidates began to fail -- the establishment was desperate to find somebody to run against Reagan.
But it gets, technically, increasingly hard just because so many states have already passed their deadline for filing for delegates. So it gets trickier and trickier the longer it goes on.
Plus, I think, frankly, if you look at the vote in South Carolina where we set a record, carrying 43 out of 46 counties.... it strikes me as unlikely you're going to see an effective third candidate, at this point, enter the race. I think Governor Romney or I are going to win.
