OOC: TBH, with a pro-choice Hispanic Republican, the election in CA should be closer. This election is practically teetering on a mini-realignment.

And given that our schedules go to the 17th, could you extend Week 3 to September 24th?

Great timeline so far but to be honest, Sandoval even though he would make a great pick for the GOP nod would not be able to make it out of the primary in the current GOP political climate. He is a pro-choice Governor who just extended tax rates and isn't going for education cuts in NV. Also he is firmly against Yucca since 2010 and was instrumental in having the project shut down especially after EnSec Chu shot it down in 2009 on the federal side. So on abortion, environmentalism, and govt reform he is a moderate to liberal Republican. There's literally no way he defeats Rubio in a GOP primary.

My 2c.

Yeah, I don't think Gillibrand has much of a chance to win the nomination either. Cuomo would pretty much close off a lot of her chances, and I doubt she'd run against him. But this is a game, and it's totally determined by how much effort the players put into their pick, and these two players really deserve to be here. Smiley

OOC: Gillibrand is more rural/populist than Cuomo, who will be hit hard for his right-wing economic views.

Governor Beebe in Ashtabula, Ohio:

"...You know, we're seeing a rebound of manufaturing here and all over the Midwest. Part of this is thanks to the rescue of the auto industry in 2009, and part is due to the generally improving economy. But we don't want to reverse that progress. Sandoval believes we should bring manufacturing back by lowering the corporate tax, which I would accept as long as we also crack down on tax evasion through the use of loopholes and tax havens. He also thinks that we should also sacrifice wages and the right to organize because it benefits his friends. As Vice President, I'll work with both labor and business to find the best balances between workers' rights and business interests."

Christie Rally: Columbus, OH

As I campaign across this country for the man who will be the next President of the United States I keep meeting people who ask to bring us together, bring us together. That is what this nation is about, reuniting the United States of America, after eight years of division, eight years of pitting Americans against Americans. It is time to stop the nonsense, it is time to bring this country back and with Brian Sandoval as our next President we will once again have a united people looking to the future with confidence and pride!"

Brian Sandoval Campaign Rally in Tucson, Arizona: July 20th (Accompanied by Jan Brewer and John McCain)

Good afternoon!

I have spent this election campaigning for smart, conservative principles. Principles that I firmly believe will put America back on the right direction. The policies applied by President Bush, policies that were backed by Senator Gillibrand and Governor Beebe, are not policies that encourage growth - they gave government more control and slowed down a recovery.

When announcing his first stimulus plan back in 2009, President Obama promised that it would speed up the recovery, when it actually slowed it down. My friends, I believe in America, and I believe in promoting economic prosperity in America, and that's what I'll do as President. We'll lower taxes so middle and lower class families can live with more peace. We'll cut the corporate tax so businesses can become more competitive and create new jobs. Even my opponents Vice Presidential candidate agress with that! It is not just the government's responsibility to create jobs - it is also the government's responsibility to create a business-friendly environment so the private sector can create jobs. President Obama and Senator Gillibrand seemed to have missed the boat on that point.

Under a Sandoval administration, America will once again be open for business. Our smart, fiscally conservative policies worked in Nevada, and I firmly believe they will work on a national level as well.

Governor Beebe in Pueblo, Colorado:

"You know, the biggest claim repeated by Sandoval and Christie is that the stimulus package failed, and the economy somehow improved despite Obama. Down in Arkansas, we'd call that something I shouldn't say with cameras around *audience laughs*. Truth is, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the stimulus created over 3 million jobs, and though it only slowed down overall job loss, it contributed to the recovery phase we're in. The American Jobs Act of 2013 created over 1 million jobs, and the vote on that shows how partisan the Republicans are. These are basic, bipartisan elements--tax credits on small businesses, investment in infrastructure, and closing tax loopholes. But Republicans have been so determined to destroy the Obama presidency that they've tried to block anything he supports. In 2010, they even filibustered an aid bill to 9/11 first respondents."

Christie: Meet The Press Appearance

"Governor Sandoval is a different kind of a Republican, he's a different kind of candidate. We're not pandering, we're campaigning on proven records of success, of what worked in Nevada and New Jersey respectively and we're bringing that to the White House. The American people are sick and tired, and I know I sure am of the partisanship of these last eight years. It's interesting, David because in his 2004 speech to the DNC, Pres. Obama said we weren't blue states or red states, but the United States of America. He has divided this country and made us much more polarized, and our Democratic friends are running to do the same.

Take it from me, I was elected Governor in a blue state, Gov. Sandoval was elected in a state carried easily by Pres. Obama in 2008, but yet both Brian and I came to office bringing new visions for our respective states and promising to step aside the divides. I had to bring Democrats on board, Gov. Sandoval had to bring Democrats on board. The fact is we both did and we've got the results to prove it. Pres. Obama couldn't even get a Republican to go a barbecue if he dragged him there himself. We're not about polarization, we're about results."

Near the conventions - Mondale84 would need to be replaced, but everyone else is still around.
