MODERATE PARTY

Founding of the Moderate Party on the condition of the dissolution of the JCP and RPP

The Moderate Party is a right of centre, classically liberal party. We believe that the best state for any person, family or community in the pursuit of happiness is one that allows for individual freedoms to be expressed. We believe that society is progressive and that it changes through the increased interaction with and understanding of others. We support progressive social freedoms. We support the principles of a welfare state to assist those who are vulnerable and wish to better themselves and their families. We are committed to fighting the causes of poverty through lowering tax, not through raising credit. We believe in a progressive taxation system that lifts the poorest out of paying tax altogether. We are supportive of community solutions to local problems. We believe in an internationalist foreign policy and an interventionist policy to protect the rights of people to express themselves. We welcome peoples of all social status, all genders and sexualities, all faiths, beliefs and those who hold no faith or belief but the belief in humanity itself.

Well it's a yellow circle with an 'M' partly inspired by the Swedish Moderate Party.

I am intrigued by your party, but can you tell me what this sentence means?  I am not sure what you mean by 'not through raising credit'.

It's admittedly not clear. It means that the best way to tackle poverty and to assit low income earners is to remove them from the tax system, rather than tax them but give them money back through tax credits or welfare.

So what is the difference between you and the Liberal Party?

The Moderates are a continuation of the DA; we are further to the right on economics that the Liberals I would assume.

You quoted me. The name's Fritz.

Depends how you define far-right, I suppose...at any rate, your party is closest to it.

I was encouraging Winfield to take a look at our party, not calling you Winfield! Tongue

Are we to the right of the Moderate Party? Sure. But while I'd call them centrist, I'd say we're centre-right.

To answer Winfield, we fully support gay rights (I’d be a hypocrite if I personally didn’t) and abortion isn’t something that we would take a stance on; it’s a personal matter (and one of the very few social issues that is) It’s only been recently that it has been politicised again.

As for the Whig-Communitarians, they have emerged from a Pro-Life grouping and have attracted many of the hard right from the RPP; so it stands to reason that it is a right-wing party.

Best to be blunt.

The Moderates are going to stick this one out as there are a lot of undecideds out there and people who are not even aware of the dissolution of the old system. There may be a temptation to join one of the largest parties, for support and for traction but I ask anyone who is a European Liberal, whether you know it or not, to join the Moderates. We have no desire to dominate the political landscape but we aim to compliment it. The right wing in Atlasia is increasingly socially conservative. We cannot be sure that the progressive consensus that has existed in Atlasia for six years will remain if we do not fight for it. Settled issues, such as abortion are being brought to the fore. We can do as our name suggests; we can moderate their plans and those of the Liberals and Labor too. However where we can work to achieve compromise we will.

Stand out from the crowd and stand up for yourselves. Make each and every race competitive and make each and every vote count by allowing Atlasia to have a rainbow of parties. Likewise if you are a socialist or a staunch social democrat, join Labor. Make friends and make enemies because that promises you a fight and a good one at that. If you are a new player trust me, it was alot more fun just a few short years ago Smiley It can be again.

I suppose this is where I belong if I follow my ideology and want to join a party. I guess, since it is February 1, I am an independent now.

You would be extremely welcome.

Also I noticed we've been joined by Tmth; thank you and welcome.

We do favor gays and like abortion, yes? Because I like both of those things.

I love the gays Grin I can accomodate abortion but really don't give two hoots on the smallprint as I'm British.

ELECTIONS FOR CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR

Nominate yourselves or others now.
