I've decided to start my own gaming tag here on Atlas... The first game I've decided to start is a Mock UN, which if we have done, hasn't been done recently. I will take on the role of game deity and will introduce all international news for the players as well as be voter of all NPC countries which are left unpicked. I will start by presenting players each an international situation at least once a week, and there may be more as we pick up players.

A Secretary General can be voted on once we have enough players to accept nominations. They will be in effect the top executive in the game and will handle all international disagreements as well as moderator in all debates. A Secretary General will be voted on once every 3 months. Secretary Generals are not term limited.

Resolutions may be proposed by any member nation at any time. Resolution debate will last three days, though the Secretary General has the right to extend debate time. Voting will last up to 72 hours, though can be extended at the Secretary General's discretion.

To be helpful, the most powerful members of the UN General Assembly are the Five permanent members of the Security Council (There are temp. members elected every year, but we won't bother with that for now for expediency's sake). Those nations are: China, France, Russia, Great Britain and the United States. They traditionally hold the power to veto any resolution, but I strongly caution, it will hurt prestige and could cause further problems and tensions. I advise those players to use them rarely. Try not to use them at all until we get enough players in.

You may choose any member nation you want, but it is first come first serve. Here is a list of member states for those who'd find it helpful in choosing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_states_of_the_United_Nations

Once we have enough players (logically the filling of the Security Council at least) I'll present the first issue. Any questions, let me know.

On your mark, get set, GO!

Selected Nations

Pingvin - Russia

a Person - China

Barnes - Great Britain

Teddy - United States

Vosem - Israel

Belgiansocialist - France

I'd like to be either China (1st choice) or Germany (2nd choice).

You're China.

So, if you're done singing ballads, is that who you want?

Is this still on? If so, I'd like to be Australia. Smiley

I won't give up on it and I would like to fill up all the Security Council countries before starting.

But Australia, home of my fiancee, is all yours Smiley

I won't give you special treatment though Wink Tongue

If we can get two players in as Great Britain and France, we'll have the Security Council and we'll be able to start.

If it will make things easier, I'll gladly change to the UK (I really wouldn't mind), but it's up to you. Smiley

Sure, that would help us start up! Smiley

Now that we have the prerequisite number of nations playing, I will now open nominations for Secretary General.

UNITED STATES OF AMERCIA

Can a nation nominate itself? If not, we second the nomination of Israel.

A state can put it's own nomination forward.

I'm going to close the nominations now because we have 3 candidates and if we get anymore an election might be really skewed.

The nominees are

Vosem (Representing Israel)
a Person (Representing China)
Teddy (Representing USA)

You have 24 hours to vote.
