I'm not usually one to bother taking 'principled stands' about moderation on an Internet forum, but this is clearly ridiculous. Using a popular joke nickname for a candidate is trolling? Trolling worth half of the possible infraction points?

To be fair, I'd like to wait to hear from Tender Branson (or Nym?) about why he gave that infraction. I don't know the context of the post, so maybe it was part of a bigger thing with wormy goading Phil about Santorum's chances, or something? That'd be trolling, and quite possibly worth five points.

Honestly though, I just don't see how the Santorum nickname could be construed as trolling. It'd be the "inappropriate" or "profanity/vulgarity" tags maybe, if one wanted to be way too strict about it, I suppose, but how is using the nickname "Frothy" a troll?

Wow.  Way to make friends and influence people.  I was actually about to defend you until I saw that in your post complaining about being infracted for trolling... you were trolling.

Wormy you have completely mischaracterized the intent of my post.  Secondly even though I made some very valid well reasoned points I deleted my post because several members from across the political spectrum took offense to where I placed my post.  Some also took offense to the very content of the post.  If you self censor Wormy you don't get infracted.

Now against my better judgement I will say this in Wormy's defense, that post is one of the mildest things I've read on this forum.  Okay I can see someone maybe having a problem with the use of "frothy" but 5 infraction points just begins to cheapen the whole infraction thing.

And if this was indeed reported people need to chill on that.  I would hate to be a mod around here.  Lord knows I think wormy is one of the worst trolls around here but I have never reported anything he has posted.

How the hell is that trolling when Joe goes around calling me "Camptain Profanity"?  What I said there was 100% true.  Joe complained that jmfcst posted a picture of a cooked raccoon.  I refused to infract the post.  Joe got pissy, and I later called him out on it (I'll admit, not as gracefully as I should've), and he responded by saying, "F--- you".  He threw a temper tantrum because I wouldn't infract a picture of a cooked raccoon.  You explain to me how the hell me saying that is trolling.
