I humbly ask the Labor Party to consider lending an endorsement for the Mideast Gubernatorial race. If this is something y'all would be willing to do, I'd like the opportunity to address your party. Smiley

Sure, go ahead.

I don't run this, but let's pretend I do.

We really do need to get more organized as a party. We still need to establish party bylaws, a platform, endorsement procedures and the establishment of regular conventions.

You know, I've never checked to see if we have any of this. Do we have any of this? I know we have a logo, FWIW. Wink

It could be me, but does anybody think we should start a new thread for our upcoming convention? We obviously need to have one and address any issues that Gass mentioned. Perhaps it becomes easier to ignore this thread over time as it becomes bigger.

I'm thinking we could leave this thread open for general discussion and daily business while we establish a special convention where we can get done what what needs to be done.

Where should the convention be? I was thinking Chicago 'cause of the teachers' strike, but we already did that.

That would be nice, but we should go somewhere else.

Here are some of my suggestions:

- Buffalo (25% 0f New Yorkers are union members, my top choice)
- Cincinnati
- Cleveland
- Detroit
- Milwaukee
- Pittsburg
- St. Louis

I would suggest Albany, the most unionized city in US.

How about we went to Providence, RI ? I hear it's been one of the first cities in the country having been industrialized, and while there are not much industries anymore, we also do have to show we defend all kinds of workers, including public sector, which is a major employer in the city. Plus it's one of the most left-leaning cities in Atlasia.

I would consider Alabama, considering it's history with equal rights struggle.

Selma would be good. I don't really care, though. I'm up for wherever.

There's around 20,000 people in Selma; don't think there'd be enough rooms for a whole convention.

You leave the logistics to us. Get over to the legislative thread and let's get this gumwad passed already. Tongue That is, unless, you'd like to join Labor?

As chairman of the Bloc and Imperial Legislator, I'm interpreting that it's in my job description to promote the IDS. Party conventions help.

I'm guessing Nathan would need to call for one.
