The PPP numbers will likely be very similar, because they twittered that after the first night of polling Romney leads by 20 and Paul and Santorum both have about 13%.

So much for a strong second for Ron Paul, lol.

Minor quibble, btw.  'University of Nevada' usually refers to the original institution in Reno.  The university that conducted this poll is universally known as UNLV.

It's very hard for Paul to do really well when only Republicans vote and they are also very old.

Besides, almost nobody is voting in Nevada. Expected turnout is only 50000 or so.

I still feel if Romney can't win Nevada with either over 50% of the total vote, or by a 20% margin, his campaign could be in real trouble.

Apart from maybe the Romney vote, this poll will look very little like the real results.

Didn't Sharron Angle endorse Santorum ?

If this didn't happen I thought Paul could have secured the 3rd place, but now I'm not so sure anymore ...

I think Paul will come in 2nd, just like he did in 2008, but with a higher percentage. He's increased his 2008 vote share at least by 2 (and that was in a state he didn't contest) in each state. Paul and Romney are the only 2 with serious Nevada organisations which really stand to you in caucuses, as we saw in Iowa. How well did the 2008 polls do in predicting the caucus?

Polls in 2012 showed Paul with 7% and he ended up getting 14%. Of course they only showed Romney leading by a few points and he ended up winning a landslide, so I'm not really sure what's going to happen.

Oh please. I'm sure Paul is going to get a smaller % of the vote here than he did in 2008 when he's basically at least doubled his vote in every state before this (even Florida). I don't buy it.

Yes, the subject line / database should be revised.

Didn't Paul win Nye County last time? It would be interesting to see how he does in Nevada the second time, though the numbers don't inspire confidence. The topline is utterly unsurprising, of course.

Yes, and he came close to winning Esmeralda County too.

Nye county should be Paul's best county again, if he doesn't win it at least.  They absolutely love him in Pahrump, which is basically all of the people in Nye county.

Ron Paul is really pissing me off. He knows he has no chance to win and is just trolling the race for attention. And all that money people are giving that man, just think it could be going to starving children or an AIDS charity. Instead it goes to propping him up so he can't rant his paranoid lunatic Federal Reserve nonsense that the rest of the country laughs at.

Cool story, bro.

They underestimated Paul's support big time but that much seemed obvious.
