Just noticed these things have official names. I'll edit them in, replacing my descriptions except where official names appear to need explanation.

Alaska doesn't have Counties? Wrong. It does. It just calls them Boroughs. What it does do different is that it's got areas outside the Borough organization. For State Law purposes these are the Unorganized Borough, for Census purposes they're split into a couple other county equivalents called Census Areas.

The upcoming results are not complete. They sum up Precinct results, plus Postal and Question results from those State House Districts of which over 67% (by registered voters) belong to one Borough / Census Area. Postal and Question data for House Districts cut up further are simply not included, as aren't Early votes (see above) I fixed on that 67% line before checking how it'd turn out.

And another cautionary note: Angoon and Tatitlek precincts cut across boundaries, possibly one or two more that I missed. Angoon is in Skagway - Hoonah - Angoon, Wrangell - Petersburg, and Prince of Wales - Outer Ketchikan CAs. I attributed it to the first as that was where the bulk of the population obviously was. There is some population in POW too, though. Tatitlek is in Valdez - Cordova CA and Yakutat Borough. I attributed it to the first as that was where the (very small) population seemed to be, pretty much entirely. If there is any other that I missed, it's cutting across a CA boundary. Tatitlek is definitely the only precinct to cut across Boroughs.

And I'm missing data for two precincts, Haines Chilkat Peninsula (in Haines) and Paxson (in the HD12 portion of Valdez - Cordova). Either these are totally missing from the official Alaska State result as well, or they were abolished between a precinct reorganization in 2002 and the 2004 General Election, neither of which sounds all that common.

Alaska reorganises precincts rather frequently, I believe.

Do you have any information for the town of Chicken, Alaska?  They had a precinct which was removed in the early 90s, and I've always been curious about the area's politics.  (Not because it is named Chicken.)

I'd have to check what precinct it is now in. It's in SE Fairbanks though. Might be in Eagle precinct, actually. Safe Rep.

I should add that of the Absentee and Question votes missing in the borough totals (for HDs 2, 5, 6, 12, 32, 37, 39 and 40) 5 were more Democratic and 3 more Republican than the House District total, although never by more than a couple percentage points.
