Why did CNN cancel it?

Did Jon Stewart really defeat them?

They are including it as a segment of Inside Politics.  I've never really liked Bob Novack and the lost me Buchannan left.

CNN murdered it by putting people up that can't debate.

People apparently have finally realized that telling people to "shut up or I'll turn off your mic" whenever they try to reply to an accusation isn't substance of any sort.

Crossfire was interesting when it was fairly unique.  Now that we have whole networks devoted to the idea of shouting about politics, those who are interested in such things on a regular basis understandably prefer to watch that than to change the channel to see a show that begat the idea.

To be fair, most people your side of the Atlantic can't debate Tongue (formally that is - the only team from an American university ever to win the Worlds Debating Competition was comprised of two English ex-pats - the only nations who really do well at Worlds are Australia and England)

Carville and Begala are soulless flak, Carlson is like 12, and Novak hates Jews.

No one wants to see two pieces of soulless flak beat up on a 12 year old and an anti-semite.

How do you explain The Factor's ratings then?

Apparently, changing the show's title confuses people and they forget this epiphany.

Talking about that, I got a 73 in my last debate last year...ouch...

It's good to know we're good; I suppose it has a lot to do with the parliamentary system (although that wouldn't explain why Canada underperforms...)

Canada aren't too bad, the last worlds was won by Ottawa Law - it was in Malaysia a few weeks ago, one of the winners then went to volunteer with tsunami relief:

Pretty moving stuff.

What system did you get a 73 under? the 100 point scheme? My last on that was an 85 I think, my worst is a 76.

There are active debating societies at the college level in the US.

Carlson was great. Novak was good. Carville and Begala were arrogant but I'll still miss watching them. I hate that Crossfire was canceled.

I know, Yale is the best of the American Unis for debating, I think they reached the quarters, but I believe the only American uni team to win worlds was comprised of two English ex-pats. (Man am I a loser! haha)

100 i suppose, 75 being average for experience and skill level. I was in B grade year 11 last year, this year i'll be in A grade year 12, which means i'll see quite a few more low 70s I think Tongue
