Hey, everyone! This will serve as my Senate office for the duration of my term. Any major announcements will be posted here.

Okay, uh, everyone. Hey. Hey. Woah. *catches breath*

Yeah, I'm running a write-in campaign for the Senate. I've been fairly busy in so-called "real life" lately, and thus haven't been around Atlasia that much, and dropped the ball as regards the special Senate election. Thus, this spectacle.

So, anyway, you all know me. I'm a Liberal candidate, and a liberal candidate. I'm a pragmatist, economically, but I do tilt to the left when the proverbial (hopefully) gun is to my head.

I've been Governor of the Pacific for two great and enjoyable terms, and, most relevantly, at-large Senator, winning two landslide victories () to join that hallowed body, and now I'm on the Supreme Court, appointed by my old friend and sometime rival Tmthforu.

Why am I running? Well, it's impromptu, yes, but I'm enthusiastic - I agree with something Senator Marokai said recently. He said that, while the results of the Great Dissolution have been promising, we must be vigilant, and guard against a slide back into two party gridlock and dull, grey elections. Reform is a constant process, not a single piece of legislation or constitutional amendment.

Anyway, I know this is a long-shot campaign. If honoured to be elected to the Senate, I will work to the best of my ability to promote good government, reform and liberal causes. I hope to work with my friend and ally President Polnut in leading Atlasia into what I've said before has the potential to be a golden age.

If I fall short in what, as a write-in campaign, is always going to be a challenge, I'll be proud to carry the Liberal Party's banner in this election.

PS: Oh, yeah, the Liberal Convention will reconvene, soon, promise.

I won't be around for the polls closing, but we're looking very competitive as of now, and victory might be within my grasp.

I didn't expect to be a serious contender when I announced this last minute campaign, but many of you have wrote my name in, and by my count I've got a decent chance of making it into the Senate. Thank you to all who've gave me their vote - whatever the eventual result, I'm honoured to have received such support.

I'd also like to congratulate my two opponent's, Earl and Clarence, on their strong showing - I look forward to serving with one of them in the Senate.

I'm glad to have continued my proud tradition of being elected to the Senate by a margin of under a single vote - if I recall correctly my first election was one by half a vote, and the next by a third of a vote, so with this latest result you can call me Landslide Oakvale.

I'm honoured by this victory, but sad to be leaving the Supreme Court. The Court was always my ultimate ambition in Atlasia, and a large part of deciding against a run for the Presidency last month was, in addition to real life factors, a reluctance to leave the Court. I've enjoyed my time serving with Ebowed and Opebo greatly, and I hope that I can return sometime in the (hopefully not too distant ) future.

Congratulations to Senator-elect Clarence, who I look forward to serving with. I'm glad we have some common ground despite our ideological differences, and I'm confident he'll make a fine Senator.

And condolences to my opponent Earl - I know what it's like to lose a close election, and this one was so close it came down to fractions. I hope he'll consider running again in April.

Finally, I'd like to thank my friends and allies in the game who've helped me throughout my time in Atlasia - Napoleon, Polnut, bgwah, Snowguy, Tmth, Bacon King, and many more I don't have the space to mention - you didn't all vote for me, but I wouldn't be here without your help in one way or another. Thank you.

I hope I can represent the nation well in the Senate, and, with that, I've said my piece.

I know it's a little early, but I feel I should announce this sooner rather than later - I will not be seeking election to a full term as your Senator, and, furthermore, intend to retire from Atlasia once the Liberal Party platform has been passed and my term has ended.

My time in Atlasia has been a lot of fun - from the early days as Governor of the Pacific, to the chaotic Presdential race, my earlier spell in the Senate, and the honour of being part of the Supreme Court. I've made some friends and had an enjoyable time, but everything comes to and end eventually.

Thank you to everyone who's voted for and supported me over the years - I'm happy to say I'm leaving Atlasia in what looks to be a very good position - we have competitive elections, four major parties, and actual debates. I've had the privelege of leading one of those parties, and we've got a great generation of leaders in and soon-to-be-in office.

I'll now fairly quietly serve out the rest of my Senate term until my retirement once my successor is sworn in.

Update: In light of the resignations of Junkie and Marokai Blue I, too, have decided to step down early from the Senate in order to give my successor (hopefully a Liberal ), who'll be elected in the upcoming special election, an early start in office.

My reasons for planning to serve out the rest of the term was to avoid inconveniencing the SoFE, but since there's now to be a special election regardless..

I'll stay on as Chair of the Liberal Party until we have finalised a platform.
