It's too soon to call Colorado.

He only seriously campaigned in Colorado. Missouri is completely pointless. Only did the one stop in Minnesota. Relied heavily on T-Paw, who is really blowing this.

Kudos to Santorum, but we'll crush him and Gingrich in Arizona/Michigan.

Santorum has now won four states, compared to the presumptive nominee's three.

Yes. The Republicans want to nominate an imperialist bigot so they're going for the real deal. Mittens just isn't a good actor.

Why would he? His loss is only a wound. This isn't a panic situation like his loss in South Carolina was. Santourm is at a huge disadvantage come Super Tuesday, and will likely lose any poll bounce from his wins by the end of the month. Did I mention Romney has about 106 delegates to Santorum's 20ish?

he'll still be nominated  it will just take most of the calendar and tens of millions more to do it.

Winning the nomination after an ugly scorched earth primary would truly be a pyrrhic victory. The Democrats blew the 2006 California gubernatorial race, and it looks like the Republicans are blowing the 2012 Presidential election.

No. That will happen on convention day, after the first ballot. Evil

Shouldn't the current frontrunner be winning at least the handful of states he won the last time he ran?

the standard retort here is that last time he positioned himself as the right-wing alternative to inevitability, this time he is the inevitable.

It's worse. He's losing Obama states now. States he carried last time he ran.

And if he's the only non-Romney left standing?

Depends on how well he does in the next three upcoming states. I can see him carrying this momentum into super tuesday moreso than I can see Romney making hay.

He finished third - behind Ron Paul in MN! This is bad news for Romney.

No, obviously, but Newt Gingrich should so the anti-Romney vote can coalesce around Rick Santorum as the worthier opponent.

Um, yeah it kinda is.  Romney lost Colorado to a guy who's name is a synonym for anal fluid, despite a huge fundraising advantage and name recognition and the fact that he won the caucus with over 60% of the vote last time.   lol

Of course not - Romney won't be out of this race until November 7th, 2012. Then he'll become President-elect. Smiley

Yes, Romney should drop out.  He is clearly a platitudinal walking disaster.

Really. It's over for him. Santorum is the anti-Romney and Newt staying in only helps Romney, and we all know Newt doesn't want that.
