North Carolina (along with Virginia I suppose, if everyone were on the ballot there), should demographically be one of Romney's best Southern states, right?

If Gingrich decides to drop out after MI/AZ or Super Tuesday, Santorum would destroy Romney in NC.

No.
From my experience, the NC GOP is full of wackos who will probably favor Newt.

Head to head matchup from this poll:
Romney 45
Santorum 44
Gingrich 44
Romney 42
Of course, this doesn't factor in that Ron Paul will also be on the ballot and most of his supporters would go Romney in a head to head poll.

This looks like it could be a fun three-way now that the Santorum has surged.

I went to the drink fountain with the intention of getting a diet drink, but I accidentally hit the Dr Pepper lever. I didn't realize it until the cup was full.

The NC Tea party did endorse Newt. But I am not voting for the guy, rather I will probably end up voting for Santorum.
