That fiasco is probably why Nevada made the straw poll binding this year. Can only imagine how many other states will be wishing they had followed suit.

Those memes are just stupid. Some of the other things I've seen on Paul forums are closer to terrifying. We're talking literal Maoist style criticism and self-criticism.

In 2008 I remember after a flare up of the racist newsletters thing and Paul's first official response I checked out some Paul forums and it was full of people basically begging for forgiveness for ever doubting even for a second in Paul and people were talking about doing things like selling their cars so they could donate more money to Paul in atonement and a ton of "Wow I am so unworthy of the gloriousness of Paul!" stuff. You could probably simply replace "Paul" with "Jesus" in many of those posts and they would seem like they came off some evangelical site.

No he was allocated 5. He can't get any more than that no matter how many of his supporters show up at the state convention, unless his supporters end up on the other candidates' delegate slates. Which is no doubt what's being attempted here.

BTW I saw a Ron Paul bumper sticker in the church parking lot this morning. Giving Paul 1/3 of candidate bumper stickers in the parking lot I've seen (the other two being Obama bumper stickers, one of which is my own.)

Ha, I still have my "REPUBLICANS ARE FILTH/REPUBLICANS ARE ASSHOLES" cardboard sign I found at the RNC. Nice souvenir. And I know tons of people who were arrested at the 2008 RNC.

But here's a big difference, most of the "protests" weren't protests at all, just dumb anarchists breaking things that had absolutely nothing to do with the RNC, the worst damage was done to the Macy's in downtown St. Paul. That's quite different from internal discontent amongst the delegates themselves.
