I swear, if Pompidou is not gone by now, I shall wear Sarkozy's banner in my signature until Sunday's runoff.

(please go, Georges)

Well...

- Its 3-2 for Pompous Pompy.
- The opposition is split between Thiers and Loubet.
- The only regular voter, who hasn't voted yet is Nhoj, who said Pompy last time.

So that's a fairly safe bet Wink

Emile Loubet

Ill try to read up on them, so I might change my vote.

Loubet was the first President to serve out his term and retire peacefully, helped to stabilize the country politically (although it was still the Third Republic), worked on straightening entente cordiale and supporter rehabilitation of Dreyfus. Pretty decent man, I'd say.

Millerrand? Has to resign after four years of trolling.

OK. I have saved Loubet before because of entente cordiale, and it seems he was a better president than Millerand and Thiers. Guess its just my anti-secularization tendencies that makes me dislike him. Ill go Millerand in this one (and Thiers in the next if you get Millie the Troll out).

Raymond Poincare is difficult to evaluate. Clemenceau overshadows him so much. But his radical approach to the German question might actually have worked seen from a selfish French perspective. I just hate the idea of an even more unfair Versailles treaty than IRL.

Round 12

Usual rule

Thiers is tempting, but I'll go with Jules Grévy for now. Sure, his election strengthened the Republic, but he also had to resign in infamy.

Adolphe Thiers.

Whats your opinion of Poincare? "Mons. Living in the shadow of the Tiger" (Clemenceau)

Poincare was outstanding for Presidents of the Third Republic and played quite significant role during WWI. As much as I like Clemenceau (a real badass), I feel kind of sorry for Raymond being so overshadowed.

Thiers

He deserved to get spared in regard for his political role in the beginnings of the 3rd republic, but crushing the Commune ought not to be forgiven.

Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte

Because abolishing the republic and making yourself dictator does make you a bad prez!

Since we only have decent or great presidents left he has to go, even if he did make a few reforms and many of his opponents among the royalists where far worse than him.

Improve your chances by providing an alternative candidate for elimination.
You didnt join Nhoj on Grevy, so I take it you agree he was better?

The trouble with Nappy Jr. is, that he abolished the constitution he was supposed to uphold.
