Santorum is ahead nationally, but trailing Romney in Alabama?

Thanks for siphoning away from Gingrich. Gingrich is finished if Romney wins Georgia and a majority of other Super Tuesday states. Honestly, perhaps Santorum should get the bottom of the ticket for this...

I wonder just how much Mitt Romney is going to put into trying to assassinate Santorum's character, and what he'd use to do it. I don't think Santorum's nearly as vulnerable to negative advertising as Gingrich.

Unlike Gingrich, Rick Santorum seems to be a genuinely nice and decent human being, and Romney can't exactly attack his main "flaws", his social conservatism, without reinforcing the image of him as a moderate/liberal.
