What states do you think would be opposed if polled? I suspect Ohio and Illinois would be.

30-61 for legalization in LA. Since the last poll that PPP did for pot here turned out to be an ACLU internal I'm more likely to believe this.

Some more numbers: A Majority Of New Yorkers Are Cool With Legalizing Weed and 51 percent in Arizona favor legalizing marijuana.

Sawx, where did that Louisiana poll come from?

I'd imagine question wording matters heavily in regards to this.

Compare PPP's wording:

Compared to Quinnipiac's:

It's pretty obvious which one is going to elicit a more positive response. This also explains why one poll showed NY opposing by a big margin while another shows it supporting.

Clearly Pennsylvania opposes legalization because te workers realize pot is just simply an opiate to keep the masses in a false consciousness. [/Snowstalker]

Overwhelming majority for medical, but majority still opposed to recreational.  I think that last part will change soon enough.

The 2014 legislative session for the Oregon legislature is ending and the aforementioned possibility of the legislature referring a legalization measure to the ballot didn't happen. Looks like it's back to the initiative(s).

Iowa opposed to full legalization 33-60, but 62-27 support for medical pot.

Well there goes my "question wording" hypothesis. What could possibly explain these wildly divergent results?

Utah has legalized a specific extract of marijuana (or more specifically, cannabis oil that doesn't make someone high) to be used for epilepsy patients. No production of medical marijuana, or legalization of any other forms of marijuana, but it's a start.

Medical marijuana is very close in AR, with voters 46/45 against.

Don't know about Illinois, but fun and happiness is forbidden in Ohio.

Maryland just decriminalized marijuana (possession) and it looks like California won't have a legalization initiative in 2014 after all.
