Another 5 point infraction! Infraction points have officially lost their meaning.
Spitting on the grave of a great president, okay. Defending him 5 points!

They certainly have lost their meaning. You should've gotten ~30 points for your disgusting misogynist defense of a despicable exploitative scumbag like Kennedy.

infraction points have no meaning. there should be some sort of objective scale that is on some level conformed to. one man's 2 is another's 6.

I like JFK as much as the next guy, but really, you can't defend his incredulous amount if affairs, & he wasn't president long enough to leave any other mark than an image.

I like Kennedy a lot, but that post was pretty vile. You can defend Kennedy's legacy while still recognising that he had his (glaring!) flaws. No need to resort to misogynistic bile.

Read your last sentence again Link. It's a personal attack, and a rather vicious one at that. Attacks like that would get 10 points in my book.
Oh, and it's "conscience" rather than "conscious" by the way.

Pretty much all speculation. There is no rhyme or reason. I just posted a picture which is a parody that is all over the web in a thread today. After the picture I made a post that completely refuted everything that was in the parody. The parody was deleted with a 10/10 infraction. The refutation was not read. The infraction points have lost their meaning. Neither of the posts was an attack or directed at anyone on this forum.

What you
actually
posted was an image that implied that domestic violence is
hilarious
. The inherent ironic brilliance of the image was not, I think it is fair to say, immediately apparent.

Isn't that just a reflection of all of life, none of us ever truly able to communicate our experiences to others? And thus the infraction system, in its absurdity, becomes a beautifully defiant strike against the emptiness of the universe.

Not that I disagree with the sentiment about the modded post above, but when you consider that it's apparently equivalent to jmfcst's lame Siberia joke or me asking Torie if he attended any emo shows in the 80s you can easily see why people say that infraction points have lost all meaning.

OK but I think most people would agree there's a huge difference between off topic posts made while somewhat buzzed and glorifying domestic violence.

Due to infraction point inflation, this post merits a full 10 points!!!

I disagreed with those. But sometimes the 10 points is given out of necessity, not equality on the 10-points.
The Siberia joke didn't warrant 10 points. But, you have to admit that you go off topic a hell of a lot. You need to tone it down with that.
I infract Mechaman's swearing at 10 points, simply because it's the only thing that gets him to stop. The points system isn't pefect, but it gives us an indication of who deserves a ban. If you constantly hover at high points, you probably aren't going to be around for another 10 years...
