...and no, it wasn't George.

So wealthy that he made the Kennedys look poor? Check.

Socially liberal at one point in his career, flip-flopping on many  of those issues later for political expedience? Check.

Unpopular as hell with the "base", and couldn't understand why? Check.

Felt "entitled" to the GOP nomination, and the Presidency? Check.

Now, I don't want to carry the comparison too far, but I found the parallels amusing, to put it lightly. Tongue

I, for one, will be incredibly surprised if Mitt kicks it while banging his secretary.

According to Politico, there were a few politicians that were like Romney as well:

What a way to go, huh?

The comparisons to Rockefeller are absurd. Compared to Rockefeller's wealth, Romney is the very poor. Compared to Rockefeller's political positioning, Romney is Goldwater.

You thought Tarkin was a good guy in that movie? Presidential, even?

This explains everything

It takes BALLS to boss around jmfcst. A sneak preview of the Republican National Convention pre-acceptance speech meeting (check out jmfcst choking Santorum and Romney ordering jmfcst to behave):

Joseph P. Kennedy had a higher net worth in nominal terms in the 1940s than Mitt Romney does today (or Nelson Rockefeller did in the '60s).  The Kennedys are so wealthy they make Mitt Romney look poor.

Are all flip-flopper politicians required to have really good, combed-back hair or something?

Didn't Tarkin have an affair with a woman half his age and make her an Admiral? FF.

Where do you get this little bit of random info?

And how the Hell is Tarkin somehow connected to jmfcst as politico seems to be implying?

As well, I've thought of Romney being like Rockefeller as well.

A more apt comparison:

Ran before and lost? Check
North-eastern Governor that represents the establishment? Check
Opposition from Conservative wing of the party? Check
Speaks in meaningless platitudes? Check
Boring and dull personality? Check
