I just watched this last Sunday thinking about how awesome her comeback would have been, but I will never get a chance to be seen. Sad

RIP Mrs. Houston

Wasn't a huge fan of hers, but RIP anyway.

Being a child of the 1980s, songs like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", "The Greatest Love of All"  and several others remind me of my childhood.

It was always sad to see someone with such an incredible gift to waste it like that. Even though as I got older, I wouldn't call myself a fan, I always hoped she would get clean and get her act together.

RIP.

Very sad.  Sad

Requiescat in pace.  A star who burned too brightly.

At least she'll get a televised memorial service Sunday night.  I don't intend to be disrespectful by mentioning this so soon, but CBS has to be pleased what this will do for the Grammy ratings.

Bobby Brown has also been found dead in his hotel room. The suicide note said, "Two can play at that game."

She was supposedly not using, and had just completed a movie.  Ironically, 5-15 years ago, I would have not have been surprised.

I find it tragically funny that after EVERYTHING she did - she ends up overdoing the xanax and drowning in the bath...

So, considering that I heard that she was pretty much drug-free (although drinking fairly heavily) - I was surprised.

Yeah, they usually are. Doesn't matter if your clean now or not. Decades of abuse doesn't stop the damage you've already done.

It may stay the best ever for a Super Bowl. It's hard to beat the combination of her voice and the timing at the start of the first Gulf War. You can hear that the crowd is clearly singing along by the end.

Remained famous in France, you don't need translation I think:

Here's a video with subtitles but it's quite bad quality:

I don't feel anything particular for her or against her outside of the fact that she opened the way to all those over annoying shouting 'pop divas'.

And also that, without much nostalgia, 90s become a bit further...
