If I may make a query, how long does one have to be a citizen before one may vote in an election?

One week, I believe.

Now that you say that, I believe you are right. You never quite know what might change in Atlasia. Cheesy

So this means Jones wins based off of first preferences?

It would have meant that, yes, but no longer. The past twelve votes have all gone to Franzl in the second round.

Technically, I wasn't even properly registered at the time, let alone 7 days in advance, so does my vote even merit being considered a vote.  Granted if it be a vote, it be invalid; not that it would affect the outcome even if some delirium affected Homelycooking and he treated it as valid, since it was cast for a non-Atlasian.

I count it as an invalid vote because it has to be somehow classified. You cast a vote (ballot no. 48) and there is tangible evidence of that vote. Though you were improperly registered, I can't delete it, and so it has to be "counted".

Wait, JCL is also running, why isn't he on the ballot?

Because I made a mistake. He's on the ballot now.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's any legal remedy for those who have already voted...

Will you resign as SoFE as a result of this omission costing a candidate votes?

I don't think resignation would actually solve the problem. If I may make a suggestion, homely, perhaps you should author legislation to be introduced in the Senate that allows the SoFE the leeway to close the voting booth and reopen a new, corrected one so that all voters have a chance to recast their ballots? Perhaps allow you a maximum of twelve hours after the start of the election to make any change?

There is already legislation pending in the Senate queue that would do just that, actually.

This is not an attempt at a coup. This is a citizen asserting that his government honor the rule of law. If the request would be honored I will have no reason to sue for the presidents removal as a co-defendant in this matter.
