Shouldn't opebo count as a first preference for me?

Because of the 'belgiansocialist' error?  That's lousy.  I just copied it off an earlier poster in the thread.  Sorry Tweed, I think that's crap.

Napoleon is correct. I made a little mistake. A vote for Tweed/Belgian does not count for Tweed/bgwah.

Well in my case I just copied it from a previous poster's vote because I hate to try to use that horrible unwieldy original ballot.

I do this too, but I make sure to get things right before I post.

I'm doing a whole lot better than I expected I would do. I got a 4th and 5th preference for Veep; by my numbers, that's 200% better than anticipated.

Shouldn't opebo count as a first preference for me?
I don't think so. I think that may be a similar circumstance to what happened in June 2009, though my memory is foggy.

Then President and VP are essentially elected separately which wouldn't make sense.

his voter intent was clear

I agree, for the most part. I didn't even bother asking for his first preference. Tongue

His voter intent was NOT clear.  Looking at the ballot, it appears his intent was to cast a vote for Tweed/Belgiansocialist and not for Tweed/Bgwah.  Now he says he screwed up.  Well, sorry pal, deal with it.  Votes get counted the way they are cast.

So you believe that voter intent is exactly what appears on the ballot? What if it was a misspelling?

I remember when Fritz and me were elected. Alcon voted for Fritz for President, while not putting his vice presidential choice.

What about the Napoleans? Those technically wouldn't count. I'd sue, but I like Nappy too much.

I would think intent would be obvious there..

Peeperkorn's vote is invalid because he doesn't meet activity requirements (i.e. he posted too rarely in the last 8 weeks).

Which law invalidates voters who posted "too rarely" in the last eight weeks?  The Constitution specifies that he had to have voted in the past six months, which he did.

I posted "rarely" ? LOL WUT? What kind of lame accusation is that?

Good luck next time, Heidi.

Really? I had a brief look at other votes and they all seemed valid to me. Granted, this was a brief look and not a very close one. (8 weeks prior to the election means that the time around late April is relevant).

Lief, angus, MasterSanders, etc. just to name a few.  If this law is still actually in place and hasn't been updated recently, then official turnout is much lower than previously thought.

The law is still in place. For example, it has had a major impact on the last Senate at-large election as can be seen in this thread:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=152529.0

And none of the guys you mentioned does not meet these activity requirements; they all had way more than 25 posts during the 8 weeks prior to the commencement of this election (posts can be made anywhere on this forum, not only on the Atlasia subboards). On the other hand, Peeperkorn's case is pretty clear.
