Those who were just elected have to run again in two weeks.

Shouldn't opebo count as a first preference for me?
I don't think so. I think that may be a similar circumstance to what happened in June 2009, though my memory is foggy.

Then President and VP are essentially elected separately which wouldn't make sense.

his voter intent was clear

His voter intent was NOT clear.  Looking at the ballot, it appears his intent was to cast a vote for Tweed/Belgiansocialist and not for Tweed/Bgwah.  Now he says he screwed up.  Well, sorry pal, deal with it.  Votes get counted the way they are cast.

Exactly what is the current activity requirement for voters, by which I presume is the cause of my ballot being invalidated?

15 posts in the eight weeks before the start of an election... which you actually have. Huh

That is what I thought.

I demand that my vote be counted!!!

This overrides the previous:

Okay, I did not have 25, but I did have 15 which appears to be the current law.  Homely, you made a mistake, please fix it.  My vote could possibly alter the result.

Well, from what I can tell, counting my vote would not change the election.  So a lawsuit is a rather moot point.  Tongue  I do hope this Draconian Anti-Zombie law gets repealed.  I am no zombie, I'm a former President for chrissake, and I was on vacation almost the entire month of July.

Just out of curiosity, would the results of the election be different if drj101's vote were counted as 1st preference for Alfred?  It looks like that would have put Alfred and Kalwejt into a tie, which I presume would have to be broken by counting second-preference votes.

Where did this come from?  Is there a thread about it?  I can't find one.

Just curious, I noticed your absentee ballot did not include the senate races?

The relevant Law:

Too bad you officially resigned your Senate seat while a member of the "Reality or Nothing Party," and not as a member of the Progressive Union. I see you have since deleted your post in the New Register Thread, but I know it was there through last night and for at least two days, and your registration took place sometime yesterday afternoon. You deleted it so you could use this loophole to allow the Progressive Union to appoint your replacement. They don't get to do so by law because you weren't a member of the party when you resigned.

Napoleon had edited his original post some time before he deleted it, changing back to the Progressive Union (while leaving a state change intact).  I believe this was done before he resigned, but of course this can't be proven as the evidence has been deleted.

Nappy, I would be the relevant member of the Department of Forum Affairs in this matter.

Lief recently changed his party name to Vermont National Party.

I am working on updating the voter list right now.
