I just remembered something.  Not too long ago we had a series of ballot initiatives, some of which got enough signatures to get on the ballot, IIRC.  What happened to those?

None qualified, actually, because the signature requirement was absurdly high. We had an Amendment to reduce the requirement, which passed in three regions, and awaits ratification in the Midwest holding up the process, naturally. Tongue

You should probably contact Maxwell, because IIRC he was just elected Regional Whateveritscalled so he's in charge of opening the voting booth.

When the week since the creation of the thread is over, I will contact current Regional Wisard Redalgo and he can fix it because I can't just lock anyone's thread Tongue.

Just out of curiosity, would the results of the election be different if drj101's vote were counted as 1st preference for Alfred?  It looks like that would have put Alfred and Kalwejt into a tie, which I presume would have to be broken by counting second-preference votes.

Actually, that would've made Alfred one vote ahead of Kalwejt, thus Kalwejt is eliminated, and I think the Senate looks more like:

Hagrid, MaxQue, Napoleon, Mr. X, Matt

Though I could be wrong.

I think as soon as the Presidential Primary is over, the Mideast Senate Primary will occur.

I should have made a formal announcement. This is another instance in which I am made aware that something which I see as self-evident and obvious apparently isn't to everyone else. Apologies.

The fact that no one really noticed or took much interest in the Senate vacancy until the last minute, however, speaks volumes about the current level of engagement with Atlasian politics.

There were a lot of people who considered themselves for the race at a very last minute basis, but I think we have a solid amount of candidates for this race.

If homely is wanting to leave, we shouldn't hold him hear if doesn't want to do the job. And that's not against him: he's done a wonderful job as SoFE. However, if we need someone new, we should start that search, and I think butafly is a good candidate for that role.

No, impossible. I have the same score with  Jbrase voting for Deus. He has probably made a mistake by recopying usernames. Let me 10 minutes.

I did copious counting and re-counting, and it looks like Jbrase puts Deus over the top.

One issue: it was Cynic/Griff in October 2013, not Griff/Cynic (though I'm flattered).

Also, what about first round results? That'd make bore's victory look a lot better in comparison. Cheesy

bore's thing is from the first round results, otherwise it'd be 60-40 or whatever the margin was (I deleted my second round calculations about 115 votes in).

I had expected and kind of hoped Truman would do better.
