I'd prefer a coup and a Coalition for National Salvation, but a civil war would be interesting... as long as all supported one USA. I just don't like secession.

Can't we make this easier for ourselves? We venerate the Constitution, I think people would just want to go back to a democratic government ASAP. Only likely change I could think of is abolishing the electoral college and making the executive somewhat weaker, but those could be amendments.
