February will come in quite strong too:

"On Friday the president finishes up a three-day trip that includes eight fundraisers. He's expected to reap at least $8 million, a pool shared by his campaign and the Democratic National Committee."

So, we are looking at a 100 million $ quarter.

Interesting:

The FEC says that the January reports have to be filed until Monday. But because Monday is a holiday, you have to file it before the weekend, or today. Is this correct ? Can reports not be filed on Saturday or Sunday ?

For comparison in January 2008 Obama raised $36.8 mill (no DNC). Of course in 2008 we were in the middle of a high profile primary fight so interest and a sense of urgency on the Democratic side was higher.

Another interesting comparison is at the end of January 2008 Obama had $24.9 mill COH, at the end of last December he had $81.8 mill COH. It is good to not have an expensive primary fight.

Obama spent quite a lot in January:

17.7 million $

He had about 76 million $ left in the bank, mostly because of the 29 million he raised in January only 12 million went to his campaign and 17 million went to the DNC.

On the surface, it just looks like the unions are thanking him. But who knows what he has promised them next?

'Union', contrary to Republican belief, is a word that has a meaning other than 'satanic coven', you know.

Yes, the unions are just so grateful to Obama because he passed card check for them.
