Not sure whether to post this here, on the International General Discussion Board or on the Economics Board, but here will do...

Lehigh University figures out how much it costs to build Death Star and how many years to forge enough steel.

Basically, $8,100,000,000,000,000 (13,000 times the world's GDP) and 833,315 years to forge enough steel.
