I have a jacket made in GDR (peace be upon them). Still in good condition.

Can you please show a photo of this jacket?

American clothing used to be much better quality as well, before 'free trade' and globalization.  I used to have quite a lot of clothing with a 'union label' in it, but not sure where its all gotten to.

Kalwedgjit - nice jammies!  It would be a wonderful world if we could all just wear pajamas all the time.

Lewis - you look like a neanderthal in the forest!

Christ man, did you ball the girl in the Barbarella costume on this one:

When in Hollywood, do what the Hollywood people do and find yourself pretty friends.

Does that mean you are closer to the peonage than I?  I never wear dungarees, only slacks or in chill weather corduroys.

The man in the suit looks interesting.  Which is more than one can say for the tacky oppressors above.

Don't be so mean!  Tom Waits is one I quite like.  He looks like a more dastardly Johnathan Richman:

Those who wear flat-billed hats are the Nazis of our times.

Wonderful analogy.

I thought farmers wore those.

I see.  I like the overall look, the dark slacks, and the boat shoes, but I'm a bit skeptical about the T-shirt.  Tweed, is it nowadays impossible to find the traditional 'thrift store T-shirt' - such as a summer-camp shirt, or soft-ball league shirt, or amusement-park-employee shirt, something along those lines?

I believe I can remember they had gone from being a $1 find many years ago to by the time I left the Bad Place a $15-20 re-sell at the small hip shops.

I've noticed a weird development - all you youths are wearing t-shirts with slightly 'v-ed' necks.  I never really saw this when I was last in the USA a few years ago.

I don't think I own any non-v-neck t-shirts. Mine are a lot more "v-ed" than those posted on the last two pages though.

yeah I have a no objection to an old fashioned v-necked undershirt - my father wore those all the time.  But no one should really wear a t-shirt, v-necked or crew-necked, alone in public.

Merry Christmas from Mr & Mrs Republic.

Jeebus Christmas, how much did those set you back?  (he said enviously)
