On the news last night, they said that some of the children who were orphaned or separated from their parents by the tsunami were being kidnaped and sold into child prostitution. What do you think should be the penality for someone who does this?

This does happen, but much less often than the puritan press would have you believe.  The real purpose of this kind of hyped or falsified publicity is to tar the perfectly legitimate (18+) sex industry in this part of the world.  Our rulers absolutely hate to see hedonism tolerated anywhere in the world, especially if it somewhere cheap enough Americans can afford to go there.

An acceptable punishment would be life in prison, but make sure everyone knows what their crime was - child molesters/murderers don't last long against prison justice.

Hellish prison conditions would also be acceptable - solitary confinement, next to no light, only a bucket for bodily functions(which will only be cleaned once a month, so it stinks in there), no blanket(nice, cold stone floor for the bastards), and very crappy food(enough to keep them alive). Of course this would probably violate 'cruel and unusual punishment', so just hang them and be done with it.
