Name recognition with Thompson. Once Obama gears up in campaign mode, this will be top tier race, but I rather have anyone but Thompson as the nominee.

Kohl in the early days was the right fit for the state but he leaned like Feingold leftward and had to leave the Senate because of the 2010 election.  Let's hope that even Thompson is the nominee,  he doesn't win the seat.
