Ah, I guess we're all colored by our own experiences.  I don't mean to diminish yours, which obviously have shaped your thinking.  Still, my own thinking is like Hockey Dude's on this phenomenon (and I'm not from New Jersey.  Nor are those Spanish and French poll respondents.)
