Seriously, who is running this campaign?

Campaigning 101, you always pick the smaller venue.

aaaaahaha.  nice.

Here's his attempt to exhibit his working-class credentials and his Detroit-made vehicles:

“I drive a Mustang and Chevy pickup truck,” Romney said. “Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs, actually. I used to have a Dodge truck, so I used to have all three covered.”

He hasn't quite gotten the Everyman thing down yet, has he?

Hey, it's not like you could ever fill a stadium with people who'd come to hear a presidential candidate give a speech. Oh, wait...

“That’s my family leading the applause,” he said quickly, although no one was clapping, then laughed again. No one appeared to laugh with him.

Yeah, that sounds like Romney.

Is it just me or does Mitt Romney's laugh (when no one else is laughing) creep you out?

Not even Obama could fill Ford Field. With that said, the speech should have been in a conference room at Ford Field.

The advance man for the campaign needs to be fired.  This thing is a total train wreck of the highest order.  At least his wife has a couple of Cadillacs.

Perhaps, but maybe not...

Romney:

Obama from primaries:

(I was at this next one)

At the very least the Romney campaign should know better than to pick a football stadium. The only political speech I know of that's ever filled a football stadium is this one:

Indeed, the city is like 97% Obama.  He should have never held a rally in Detroit whatsoever, much less in a gigantic stadium within its city limits.

Whoever decided to pick that venue ought to be fired for absolute stupidity in picking rally locations... seriously, how do you do that?  I took one class in college on campaign communication and I know not to do that.

Despite all of the flops the Romney campaign produces, all I ever hear about is how good his campaign is.  Where's the proof of that?  Their strategy has been completely wrong and they haven't been able to put away the weakest field in modern times.

The campaign only seems able to do oppo research, but they can never keep their candidate from saying dumb things.  Is there anyone in the campaign who tells Romney not to go off script?  I guess not because anytime he goes off script he sticks his foot in his mouth.

The fact that the "presumptive nominee" is running 5-8% behind a candidate that spent all of 2011 at 1-2% is indicative of how great his campaign is going. The media is only portraying his campaign as going well because of all the money he is raking in, which, in a certain light, does mean it is going well.

You know that is a good point.

The media always plays up the fact Romney runs a "strong and well organized" campaign. And I am thinking really? I know he has boatload of cash, but the man has been running since 2007 and still has tepid support and on top of that his campaign keeps making mistakes that amateurs running at the state level don't make.
