Phil, is pissing everyone off the reason of your existence?
No offense, but you're acting like this.
Yeah, I guess. Amazing how I'm "pissing everyone off" by defending someone that I think has a condition from Internet bullies (yet amazingly,
I'm
called the bully), standing up to a ridiculous points system that "defends" posters from vicious attack words like "butt head" and "big meanie" and defending the rules that actually make sense here (like not posting
private messages
).
Yeah, I've just been so terrible.

FWIW, posting private messages is something Dave has said is infractable, as well as posting AIM conversations.

...and hopefully posting it again is worthy of a warning.

I can't seem to find the post where Dave said no AIM conversations (I could've sworn he did at some point), but he did say no PMs without permission. Anybody who has when it's been reported has received an infraction, as far as I know.

I'm just bringing up that someone posted the private message
again
after receiving points and having the post deleted.

Is there a way to check the posts that have been reported?
No
It seems like it would be a good idea to let you see which of your posts have been reported and maybe by who. I just glanced at my profile to see that I now have 2 reported posts and I'm curious which ones they are.
Do reported posts do anything?

And therein lies the problem. A personal attack is
never
justified in my book. If you think someone has attacked you personally, either ignore it, diffuse it, or, if it really angers you, report it if only for your own personal therapy. In my opinion, the self defense argument here, is no defense at all.

When did everyone turn into chronic complainers
We haven't changed, the system has, patrick - there is no freedom of expression here.

You just personally attacked each and every forum member, mikado, by calling us 'idiotic'. You should resign, be infracted, and banned.
The reason we are upset about the infraction point is not the points themselves but by
the utter chilling of political speech by this system
. For example, what I hate is not the points but the fact that you delete what I was trying to say - you literally eliminate all contrary opinion by deleting it.

Not that you do this of course opebo, but if say a poster posted 20 posts a day trashing the mods, and their posited hatred of free speech, and love of Bowdlerizing everything down to the level to where it is no more provocative that a Disney cartoon (that may get an "excessive hyperbole" point to boot), and posts nothing else, does that kind of conduct deserve any infraction points? In a word, is "excessive" repetition an issue here, when attacking Dave's chosen agents to superintend his venue?

Sure, it is an issue if you want to kill free speech, Torie.
