If any of his opponents were running a half-way competent campaign, yes. But unfortunately Santorum and Gingrich are idiots who don't know the first thing about organizing a national campaign, and Ron Paul wants Romney to win the nomination, so...

I found out about it on Friday because Santorum had it on his Facebook page so they ought to be putting this one out there non-stop...

Well if other states are hustling federal money, money as to which your state contributed disproportionately with tax receipts from your state, as Mass does, it being a net federal money export state rather than import state (as are most "liberal" states ironically, it being the more "conservative" states that are sucking on the Fed tit net), then to not join the game is unilateral disarmament, just making your balance of payments even more skewed towards your tax money being shipped to other states.

The solution is to just not ship so much fed money to states in general, if this all bothers you, or to limit the amount of money the Feds have available to ship, the latter of which we are currently doing a splendid job of achieving.

Sure go for it Dems. It's your trump card!

IMO this is a play by the media to damage, Romney, hoping that someone like Gingrich or Santorum capitalizes on it and wins the nomination.

I would think most governors would be trying to get as much money as possible from the federal government. I doubt this becomes much of an issue.
