Guess Politico, like his savior, once again doesn't really understand how conservative Republicans think.

If Santorum wins, this could come back to haunt him if it turns Republicans off to him.  It'll be interesting to see what happens though.

If Micheal Moore casts a ballot for Rick Santorum he will be doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately, our unnamed GOP Senator intent on calling for a new candidate after a Romney defeat this evening will have to take into account crossover conspiracy theories before following through with his threat. Or, should I say the reporter whom fabricated this fictional Senator will have an excuse as to why his fictional Senator never materializes?

Even if he or she was a fiction originally, and regardless of what happens tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if such a senator materializes if/when Romney loses Ohio.

It's a disgusting political move to be actively trying to win voters from the Democrats. You never saw Hillary or Obama calling up Republicans directly and asking for their votes, and if they did, they would have been rightfully thrown under the bus by the Democratic base. This will come back to haunt Santorum, especially if he wins by a narrow margin tonight because of support from Democrats. And btw the argument about how NH's primary was open as well (cough cough Phil), Romney didn't send out robocalls to Democrats asking them to crossover and support him. He only appealed to Republicans and Independents for support.

Could Santorum actually be hurt more in the long run by a narrow win than a loss tonight? For the record, I expect such a disgusting move by such a disgusting, soulless man.

These robocalls are deplorable. First, it is inappropriate for Democrats to try to choose the opposition to the President.  Second, Democrats need concern themselves with some of the most important races within the Democratic primaries -- especially Congressional seats.  Winning back Congress should be worth more than winning a raft of States in the Electoral College when the President now seems about as sure as any incumbent to win re-election at this stage since Ike in 1956. (LBJ would have been much certain for re-election in 1964 had the Republicans nominated Nixon or Rockefeller; Nixon could have conceivably lost to someone other than McGovern; at this stage, Reagan seemed vulnerable). Finally, Michigan could easily become a zone of contest for gay rights. No liberal should vote for someone so blatantly homophobic as Santorum.

I think most republicans are pretty much inured to democrat complaints about republican primary shenanigans.

Apparently democrats believe that they are pure and light and never engage in dirty tricks. Uh huh.

Everyone here has been saying that Santorum can't have crossover appeal. Then when he does - it's 'Operation Backdoor'. Look, I saw it back in Iowa. He won lots of counties that swung Gore in Gore vs Bush. Rural counties in Iowa. Did the same in Minnesota, same in Colorado and blew away Missouri.

Now, we're looking at the same in blue states like Michigan that were once solid Romney and supposed to carry him into super tuesday. And Romney is complaining about democrat voters swinging against him? Mitt's got the support of Indies and moderates this whole run. If they turn against him - Mitt is done. And he knows it. This is why he's complaining about it. It's the last shot in his gun and it doesn't seem to be working.

Uh huh. Let's completely ignore Michael Moore's commentary on the matter, right? Go watch the Moore video. Read some of the reports. The headline on CNN, of all places, is "Democratic mischief."
