(Ad played in markets throughout the Mideast)

<eerie music plays>

[black backdrop]

voice: "Some politicians assume people are like bricks. All of a kind. Vote the same, act the same. think the same."

[brick wall appears]

"They force people to follow the same code, and punish those who break it. They assume everyone fits the same mold."

[A group of people appears, different in every visible way - race, sex, dress, age etc.

<eerie music stops, replaced by a hammer-beat>

They all have sledgehammers, and smash apart the wall with loud hammer-strikes. The wall falls apart with a loud crack]

"People must be who they are. Follow their own paths. Be responsible for themselves and their family, and not for their neighbors."

[focus on two of the people: a white, middle-aged man, brown/grey hair with a hard hat and a construction uniform, and and a young, darker-skinned Asian woman, wearing a t-shirt and shorts. They both hold one brick in their hands -one in the left hand, one in the right. They are looking at each other]

[Everything goes black]

[on the black, "Don't be a brick in the wall" appears in white text. it fades, and is replaced by "DanielX for Governor." Then all fades to black]

Saying that caring for you're community=assuming that everyone is the same/bricks or whatever is a false and misleading statement.
You can be both an individual and look after you're neighbours.

How exactly does voting for Peter Bell constitute being less of an individual than voting for you?

Because if you vote for Peter Bell, you are just being a sheep.   Didn't you know?

It's actually intended to be the following:

1. Embellishing the ALJP's slogan, "Don't be a brick in the wall"
2. Be an attention-grabber, similar to the '1984' commercial of Apple. Really, would buying a Radio Shack  or Compaq computer make you any less opposed to totalitarianism than a Mac?

No specific anti-Peter-Bell statement was implied.

To be honest, sometimes I feel like Al's my opponent and not Peter Bell...

Effective ad, although it doesn't really mean much of anything. Wink

I kept thinking "Pink Floyd" when reading it.

I have toyed with the idea of running for Governer several times in the past... if I hadn't been picked as VP, I'd probably be running for re-election now.
Aren't "what if's" fun?
