Helps Frist in the primaries, hurts GOP in the general.

Bush is not a Reagan or FDR in terms of popularity, and cannot touch a candidate on the head and annoint a successor.  A majority tolerates him because they agree with him on big questions, but he is not loved in this country.

Anyone who has actually heard Frist speak in public doesn't want him as the Republican nominee (unless, of course, you're a Democrat).

I like Frist a lot politically-speaking...but he's patently unelectable, and I fear he might even lose to Hillary.
