Why is the c word not censored?

If we're going to censor incredibly mild profanity that people use incredibly casually and I've even heard in church before why is a word actually considered offensive not being censored?

This double standard is another reason why no one takes most of the moderation seriously. On DU for example people post uncensored "f**ks" and "s**ts" all the time, but I know saying that word almost always would get a banning except in very rare circumstances (like a quote).
