I'm heading back up to school and got bored so this came to mind. Bush/Carter pledge to only serve on term, Carter won't run after Bush --Bush says he needs to clean up the country after his son's presidency.

All other events stay the same. Thoughts on how this map would look?

Bush and Carter are able to appear quite youthful for their age.

I don't think that Bush/Carter would win, let alone any electoral votes, if they failed to win a major party nomination. Them running would probably do little more than increase Obama's electoral margin of victory.
