**Please note: each vote in the open primary counts as one delegate, and each vote in the closed primary counts as two delegates.  The winner must have a majority of delegates or the previous nominee of the party will appoint sombody to be the nominee, OTHER THAN HIMSELF.  Even in uncommitted wins a majority, or prevents a candidate from winning a majority, this rule applies.**

April 10-11: Open Primary, all Registered Voters may cast ballots.
April 17-18: Semi-Open Primary, only Democrats and Independents may vote.
May 1-2: Closed Primary, only registered Democrats may vote.

Ask your chairman.  But the AFRNC is so disorganized that I don't think they have one out yet.

Who are eligible for the nomination? Only those who are declared candidates, right?

What do you care? You're not even part of their party.

Some of my best friends are Democrats, and Democrats can hold their primaries anytime and anyplace they want. But not here, where members of my family might see it. They should do it in the privacy of their bedrooms.

Are the mid-terms actually set? Are the regions set? WHAT IS THIS?Huh?

And, oh, are we having any candidate besides Nym yet?

A date for the midterms is set - the last weekend in April. A deadline for filing candidates is also set, at a rather early date, 20 days before the election. Obviously, none of this is going to work unless we get down to eliminating the last few kinks in the constitution and ratifying it. In other words, anybody who opens lots of threads around here to distract from our great task and bury important threads is a troll and an enemy of the Atlas Forum and the Atlas Forum Constitution.
Boh. Had to get that of my chest.

The Convention will be held May 6-8 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Mellon Arena), with the speech of the nominee coming on May 8th.

The deadline for declaring candidacies will be at 4:45 EST tomorrow (4/1).  If not other candidates declare to challenge the president, the only choice other than President Nyman will be 'uncommitted'.  The uncommitted delegates will be open at the convention.

Miami, this is ridiculous. The elections aren't for an extremely long time. Holding primaries this early is foolish and only gives Nym a chance to be an "official" candidate. This is just one of many reasons why you should be ousted as AFDNC Chairman.

I actually support having them now, because Nym is the only candidate, so that he has plenty of time to campaign.

If it was an open ticket, then I would wat it later, but as there is only one candidate, it works.

I have better things than losing elections. I meant that we should have serious candidates running against incumbents. It was a general opint.
