Based on polling it looks like a solid majority of these voters will go over to their most strongest opponent/rival, Romney.  Personally, I think I'd vote for Paul if I was such a voter, in an attempt to deny Romney a victory by default.

As a Santorum supporter - Hail Paul.

Need to deny Romney every delegate possible.

It clear that most are voting for the candidate they like best of those on the ballot, and it's no surprise that they don't like Paul.  Tactical voting does not enter most people's minds.  If you want proof of that, take a look North of the Border where Harper stays in power solely because of the lack of tactical voting.

Hey, I like Paul better than I like Romney.

Could it possibly be that the Canadian people actually like Harper?

Anecdotally, my Santorum-supporting baptist preacher uncle from the Richmond area is voting for Ron Paul as the "less bad option".

Harper has never won over forty per cent of the vote and has never to the best of my knowledge seen approval ratings above fifty for any length of time; but it doesn't seem like Canada tracks approval ratings with quite the fervency that we do.

That's true, but fractured opposition is a sign that nobody really -likes- any of the alternatives to Harper.

Look at the NDP, and the Liberals and the Bloc. Nobody comes close to challenging the Conservative party in terms of MPs.

Even if the majority do not like the conservative party, they sure don't see much comfort in the other three (or four, if you count the Greens).

Ah yes, such voters are central to the Paul campaign's strategy.

Gingrich and Callista aren't voting today. No idea what Santorum is doing, but probably also not voting.

If I were voting in Virginia, and still supporting Newt or Rick, I would vote for Paul in an attempt to prevent Mittens from gaining an absurd super-majority and all of the state's delegates. And I do believe there's actually a group of Gingrich supporters there urging people to do just that.

And, as a side note, I think it would be awesome if Paul were to pull off an upset with the help of Newt's/Rick's voters! Cheesy

I just voted a half hour ago for Dr. Turd. Would have written in Santorum, but Virginia hates democracy in that regard.

Most of the people I know who said they would vote were going to vote for Paul, and they're conservative Baptists by and large, so maybe there's something to what Bacon King said about his uncle.

Arguably they are also the backbone of the mitt romney campaign.

Paul, easily. So it could hurt Mittens delegate share in VA (wont matter obivously, as he'll get over 50% necessary to get all delegates)

Mitt will not get 50% in VA unless the fraud machine is in high gear.

There are only two candidates on the ballot and VA (stupidly) doesn't allow write in votes. You honestly believe Paul is going to win the state assuming there isn't fraud?

I think enough Newt supporters will join the RP folks to keep Mitt from winning those delegates. Possibly a few Santorum folks will too.

Is there an option to select 'Uncommitted'? It seems really unfair to force them to make an up-or-down choice between Romney and Paul.

No. I went into the booth and the screen listed one race with two options, Ron Paul or Mitt Romney...
