Do you honestly think Gingrich could possibly win even against John Kerry?

I honestly don't think the Newt would even win Georgia.

I'd support Kerry over Gingrich. I may have Georgia roots, but I'm a good moderate Democrat.

Gingrich - now there's a newt who grew into a nasty toad!

Seriously, I'd welcome a Gingrich GOP nomination but I wouldn't want Kerry running again

Oh, Gingrich would clearly win GA, as well as much of the rest of the south and other states that have been solidly Republican.  I can respect Gingrich, personally.  He would have GA in the bag.

This is Gingrich vs. Kerry. Kerry wins 55-45 in the popular vote and 342-196 in the electoral vote.

Am I the only person who remembers just how thoroughly bad Newt Gingrich was?

It doesn't matter what you think of him. The fact is that he would get a respectable percentage of the vote and carry most of the traditionally Republican states.

I think he would win UT, OK, AL, TX, and MS.

He was THAT bad.

Didn't he have like a 12% approval rating or something?

In this election I might vote for Kerry depending on their VPs.

Against almost any other Democrat, yes. But Kerry really did horribly in WV, and I think Newt could just barely carry it.
