You can get birth control pills for free just about anywhere? Do you have any connection at all to reality?

Pills? Go to a bathroom bar and get a condom. You can get them for free at most colleges and universities sponsored by the state too.

Lol at the Republicans trying to make this look damaging.

That's what happens when you have nothing left to run on.

No making up issues like contraceptives is what happens when you have nothing to run on.

Which is exactly why the republicans went ape sh**t over contraceptives, allowed the contraceptives issue to dominate Rick Santorum's campaign for the last two weeks. Congressional republicans were as bad as Santorum in making this an issue by holing the Issa hearings on the issue, and drafting the Blunt- Rubio amendment.

Some of them fell for it. They should've taken a stance such as "Go to a bathroom at a bar if you want contraceptives" or "You can get them for free just about anywhere" or something along those lines. Romney didn't fall for it against Stephanopolis but some of them did. Democrats are now losing on the abortion issue so they changed the issue to contraceptives.

Actually, according to Gallup there has been virtually no shift in the percentage of Americans who consider themselves Pro-choice or Pro-life since 1998.  With the exception an low of 42% in 2009 before bouncing back up to 48% in 2010 the range of Pro-Choicers in the US has stayed in the narrow range of 45-48% while the range of Pro-lifers has stayed in the narrow range of 42%-47%, with an isolated spike up to 51% in 2009 before returning to 48% in 2011. I will concede the numbers are not what they were in the late '80s early 90's for the pro-choice movement, but since 1998 there has been no statistically significant movement in public opinion on abortion.  Link: http://www.gallup.com/poll/1576/abortion.aspx. But, if Republicans want to make abortion an issue in this election they can be my guest, we saw how well that worked in Mississippi(!!!) this past November.

Yeah, just stuff a handful of condoms up there, that'll treat ovarian cysts.

Ovarian cysts? You want the government involved with treating ovarian cysts? How about affordable health coverage by limiting lawsuits to $250,000, increasing competition among the states, not asking about pre-existing conditions, and possibly raising the age of parental dependency to 23 or so. When the government gives you a right they can take it away as well. See ovarian cysts are an issue made up to prevent having to talk about Obama's record.

No, I want Americans to get the treatments and medicine they and their doctor feel are necessary, regardless of the religious views of their employers.

Before Obama, our nation's ovaries were completely cyst-free.

Right, and it had nothing to do with Obama issuing the 'compromise', that would require nuns to buy condoms.

Absolutely nothing.

Or is Rick Santorum in control of the WH agenda?

And then force the priests to rape them and abort the ensuing fetus or else face life in prison, right?

The priests? I think this is where I'm supposed to say something about democrats preferring to be hands on for these sorts of things.

I think we all knew that when the buzz around this started up that it would likely end up being one of the most anti-climatic "event" videos ever. It certainly didn't disappoint.

Critical Race Theory is not exactly what I'd call radical, considering it's what's underpinned the modern argument for affirmative action.

I believe affirmative action proponents generally argue that it's supposed to be only a tie-breaking measure used in the case of two equally-qualified applicants, whereas this man was actually arguing for outright quota systems and hiring/admittance of less-qualified applicants.

That may be the guy's political position, but the idea of Critical Race Theory (power dynamics, institutionalism and race and stuff) is still the main justification for affirmative action these days.  Basically, he's radical doctrine leads to moderately left-of-center to leftist-but-non-revolutionary political positions.  Damning?
When you consider Critical Theory is explicitly Marxist, it's not out of the mainstream in the academic world, but it's not a great thing for a national politician to be associated with.

Nothing is more apt here than the name of that Shakespeare play, Much Ado About Nothing.
