J. J.'s self-congratulation-by-proxy is my new least favorite thing.

Ah, I wasn't sure Romney would win Ohio when Winfield posted, and he won it by less than my last prediction.

They thought he was the better candidate for president and he won.

Romney basically spent 1.53 for every vote and Santorum spent 0.49 a vote. I guess who is the better businessman!? I mean the Ohio win was suppose to seal the deal and now it looks as muddled as ever. Romney will be the nominee but now he looks even weaker.

Who thought Ohio would seal the deal?  There were never enough delegates to secure the nomination on Super Tuesday.  It might end up being a turning point, but we won't know until next week.

Romney won big among Republican voters earning (or "grabbing" if you want to question the methods by which some people get high incomes) $100K or more. In Ohio and Michigan that is the only income group that he won.

Mitt Romney promised his supporters that he would eliminate the "death tax" (meaning the federal inheritance tax. Such is of little appeal to the non-rich -- but he stated his promise loud and clear in his victory celebration.

I'm not rich and I want to ditch the death tax.

Een so, the OP missed why Romney would win Ohio.  Wasn't because he won the votes of hard-up voters longing for Romney's economic experience (That demo went for Santroum) but because he won well-off voters who probably just wanted to pay less in taxes.
