Has anyone here ever been published by an academic journal?

I'm sure ag and Muon2 probably have been, but other than that? Al maybe? If you have, what was your article about, and what was the process like?

I ask because I'm currently working on writing a paper on caucus effects on voting patterns with one of my poli sci professors that we're thinking about submitting for review.

I almost tried to get my research project published in one of the meteorological journals, but the reception to the presentation at the AMS conference wasn't as good as we'd hoped, so we decided not to pursue it.

realistic idealist is correct. I have appeared as author or coauthor on about 300 academic papers. I've made a number of presentations at academic conferences, and I've also been on peer review panels for other papers.

I just finished writing a piece for a local writing contest entitled "Generation Nothing" and, if accepted, it will be published in Susquehanna University's annual periodical, The Apprentice Writer.

When I was a junior in high school I had an internship working for Herbert Hauptman, the 1985 nobel laureate in chemistry, at the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute in Buffalo, NY and one of my abstracts on the origin of the genetic code got published with the University of Iowa.

I know that many titles are of the form "Measurement of / Search for __________ in p pbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV (1.8 before 2005)".

I know my most cited is "Observation of the Top Quark" though I share that paper with a few hundred collaborators.

Nothing nearly as astronomically large as muon2's numbers, but I've published 8 articles and one translation in academic journals in three different countries, reviewed books seven times for journals, published eight papers that are chapters in collections of academic essays, once again in three different countries, had published several encyclopedia and newspaper articles, and finally have published one book of my own.  Will start to work on my second book this summer and fall.

Just last week we had a paper accepted for publication in Physics Letters with the title "Search for Higgs Bosons of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model in p pbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV". Simply gripping reading.

I am coauthor on two papers. One, regarding voting behavior of Arab Americans, was definitely published, the other one was submitted for publication, however I left the institution well before the process completed, and I cannot say for sure if it was finally approved. I soon left academia altogether, so I may go to the grave with just that one paper for sure.

I'm in the process of making a paper on 'The allegorical use of lunar imagery in Sarashina nikki' suitable for publication, and next year I'm going to try to be working on a much longer paper on 'The spiritual and psychological underpinnings of Yoshiya Nobuko's middle and later fiction' if either of the professors who could conceivably oversee my work have time.
