http://www.mediaite.com/tv/alexandra-pelosi-debuts-new-video-on-real-time-maher-says-it-may-make-liberals-go-insane/

Watch the video. That's perhaps the best piece of red meat for conservatives in this entire election. I can't wait to see who jumps on this first.

Also, Maher's response earlier in the show to being called the "de-facto leader of the Democratic Party":

Jesus Christ these people are clowns. Bill Maher's ideology is clearly Bill Maher and I have no idea what in God's name Alexandra Pelosi even thinks she's doing.

Trying to break out of Mommy's shadow as a legitimate filmmaker, I suppose.

A brief review of descriptions of her work at The Wikipedia seems to indicate that she was more legitimate some weeks ago than she is now.

Limbaugh wouldn't even have the balls to do something like this.

I'd like to meet the people who are outraged by MARRYWANNA!!!$@! being legalized but not a self-absorbed prick calling a woman a c**nt. Even I have reservations about that and I use the word in my life. There's something about doing it on national tv towards a mother that bothers me.

Yeah, he'd go to Walgreens and buy Viagra and Oxycontin instead.

There is no moral equivalence being asserted. What Maher has done is orders of magnitude worse.

Such as? I'm having a hard time seeing what Maher has done that's worse than supporting the Lord's Resistance Army, so this should be good.

When was Maher ever made an honorary Democratic Congressman? When was Maher ever honored with a metal bust of himself in the Missouri state capital? When did Democratic politicians have to step lightly around Maher? Rush had all those things happen to him (except replace Democratic with GOP, of course).

Maher has never and will never be the "Rush of the Left". Maher isn't even liked by a large portion of liberals.

What about Jon Stewart? He's the closest they come (he basically got the 9/11 first responders bill passed)

Maher is the opposite of Southern Democrats who abandoned liberal economics to buy religious right rhetoric. He's only liberal because he is an athiest.  He'd be a Republican if the Paulites took over.

Even if this particular thing that Maher said is worse than this particular thing that Limbaugh said--which purely in terms of the words used it is, bearing in mind that Limbaugh's sentiments were worse even though his language wasn't and that this isn't even beginning to scratch the surface of the self-promoting amoral sleaze that is both men--his relevance to American politics is of course significantly lower.

No, he couldn't be the Rush of the Left - he actually cares about facts.

Not in the HP-ness, more of the comparative influence he wields in the party. Rush is effectively the GOP boss, though he was much more powerful during the Bush years (Beck briefly took the mantle in the first 2 years of Obama, but now it's back to Rush)

I hope that the Democrats don't dethrone him but they will if they want to get elected. It's thrilling to portray the left as being exactly like him.

And he does not refer to female Republicans as "dumb b*tches".

...well, since there's essentially no way for me to point out everything that is just inherently wrong with this sentence, I'll just settle for calling you a cognitively-impaired Republisheep ding-dong and leave it at that.

It's a shame that wishy-washy moderate liberals like Maher or Pelosi are considered to be at the forefront of American progressivism.

What this country needs is a red hot socialist revival.  Cheesy

The problem with Maher isn't that he's wishy-washy (he is, but that's not the problem).  It's a combination of his ridiculously patronizing "condescending prick" attitude, his New-Agey pseudoscience, and his utter vapidity.  I've never been convinced that Maher has all that much going on in his head, but he gets so much mileage out of mocking the truly idiotic and hypocritical (I saw him demolish Harold Ford Jr once, and I'd put him pretty thoroughly in both of the mentioned categories) that it makes him feel smarter than he is.
